Nothing Stays the Same

As we move into a new calendar year, there is a collective feeling that something is coming to a close and therefore something new can begin. This year has taught us so many things about ourselves and those around us. It has opened the space for deeper reflection and clarity of what is truly important in life. That alone is no small feat.

This year, instead of looking to traditional new years resolutions as a way to mark 2021, reflect on what has sustained you and given you strength this year. Then, without expectation or judgment, seek to continue incorporating those thoughts/actions into the new year.

Embrace what brings you joy and examine what doesn't

This past year has clarified the idea of non-permanence, a foundational principal in Buddhism and the Yogic tradition. Nothing stays the same. When we can can truly accept that we can not have total control in life, we can live in the realization of the things we do.
